In a recent meeting, Prince William and Princess Kate confirmed that they will be moving their family to London in the winter of 2017.
This move means that they will be spending significantly less time in their Norfolk home, Anmer Hall. They will primarily be residing long term at Kensington Palace. This home once belongs to the Queen's younger sister, Princess Margaret.
A statement released by the couple said, "Their Royal Highnesses love their time in Norfolk and it will continue to be their home. From this autumn, however, the Duke and Duchess will increasingly base their family at Kensington Palace. As they have in recent years, their Royal Highnesses are keen to continue to increase their official work on behalf of the Queen and for the charities and causes they support, which will require more time spent in London."
The statement went on to say, "Prince George will begin school in London in September, and Princess Charlotte will also go to a nursery and eventually school in London as well."
This announcement means that William and Kate will more than likely be seen in the public more often. A source stated, "They will be here in London and out and about doing more things."
If that's not exciting for Londoners, I don't know what is! Congrats to the Royal family on their upcoming move!
