Parents Were Horrified to Find THIS Inside Their Sophie the Giraffe Baby Toy
Pediatric dentist, Dana Chianese, was a huge Sophie the Giraffe teething toy advocate.
That is, until one day when she went to clean her son's Sophie...
Last month, Dana was cleaning her son's toys and when she came to Sophie the Giraffe, she got a whiff of a musty smell from the toy's air hole.
"I decided to cut into Sophie out of curiosity," Dana told Good Housekeeping. "I discovered a science experiment living inside."
What she found inside was absolutely horrifying!
There was an enormous amount of mold growing inside the toy.
Dana claimed that she had cleaned the toy religiously per the instructions, but apparently that just wasn't enough.
"It still hurst my heart to know that for months I allowed my babies to chew on moldy toys. I no longer buy any chew toys with a hole nor recommend them to my patients."
She goes on to recommend that toys such as this need to be cleaned weekly in the dishwasher or in hot, soapy water followed by a Clorox bleach solution for disinfecting. Then they toys should be dried completely.
And like any purchased good, following the manufacturer's instructions will also help prevent these types of occurrences.
When asked to comment, the Sophie the Giraffe spokesperson responded:
What do you think about this?
